You Don’t Know What You’ve Got ‘Till It’s Gone

The AgriVampires and their enablers want you to believe something that’s not true. In Cochise County, at least on paper, they’ll tell you there’s no shortage of groundwater. Yet groundwater is in crisis everywhere we look–and especially in Sulphur Springs Valley.

Ask your neighbors who are hauling water because their well went dry just how abundant the groundwater is around here.

A billion gallons of water, like a billion dollars or a billion people, is vast. It’s hard to get your mind around such a big number. But don’t confuse a vast amount of groundwater with the infinite–or with something that can’t be depleted, stolen, or polluted.

Even billionaires can squander their fortunes.

We shouldn’t focus on vastness but on how fast whatever still exists is being gulped up without a second thought by Corporate Ag.
