Make Hope Possible Rather than Despair Convincing

People ask our organizers if we’re radical. We respond, Well, we are trying to get to the root of the issue here.

“To be truly radical is to make hope possible rather than despair convincing.” ~Raymond Williams

Okay, call us radical—label us if you must. But we’re also moderate, conservative, etc. We’re moderate because we’re middle-of-the-road, maybe just a little further down the road than other folk. Likewise, we’re conservative because we’re trying trying to preserve a natural resource for our children and their children.

Luckily, for the everyday people of Cochise County, when it comes to working together to save the groundwater, most labels (designed to divide and conquer) fail.

P.S. Let’s not forget that the Girl Scouts were once accused of being a communist organization (https://gshistory.com/2014/05/01/the-girl-scout-red-scare-part-one/).
